"Dead Simple Human-Powered Airplane" is the brainchild of Alec Proudfoot. This impressive project was years in the making before first flying in December 2015. The team has moved flight operations to historic Moffett Field in Mountain View. The flights at Moffett have been spectacularly successful - including flights running the length of Moffett's runway!

The plane will be using the longer wingspan, which was used for the first time this past weekend. These wings are longer than those of a Boeing 737, and are awesome to watch! Folding stools are being supplied, as well as a speaker to let viewers listen in to the flight ops controllers. The views of the flights against the backdrop of the hills and the historic Moffett hangar are pretty awesome. Bring cameras!

Flights are very early in the morning, so wind is not a problem. The weather for the flights on 12/17 should be absolutely perfect, with light to no wind, and great field conditions at Moffett.

Spectators can transit to the viewing area hourly, starting at first light at 6:45. Given the forecast, we'd recommend planning to arrive for the 8:00 and 9:00 transit times.
