Dartmouth has stepped up to the challenge of going online for Spring by moving 884 classes to fully online in a very short period of time. In addition to traditional lecture classes, the College has created language labs, studio classes, science labs, and engineering classes that students can access from home.
Thayer lives by its motto: “The box does not exist”. This video discusses what Thayer has accomplished in an unconventional way to continue to offer a first rate education: small classes, projects (individual and group), and lab courses by shipping to students the materials they need to complete each course including 3D printers. Summer will also online and offer 8 classes as usual. Though missing the social aspect of Sophomore Summer, the students will still receive the excellent educational experience we all enjoyed during our 4 years in the Northwoods.
In this video Doug Van Citters speaks about Thayer’s transition to on-line learning.
