A year ago, Joyce Sackey, D’85, DMS (now Geisel) ’89, FACP began work at Stanford Medicine as its inaugural chief diversity and inclusion officer. In an era of heightened awareness of the importance of equity and inclusion of all, as well as legal challenges to previous practices in place designed to comply with goals of social justice, we are honored that she has agreed to join the DAASV for an evening to learn more about her experiences and deep knowledge.
With previous leadership roles in teaching, research, practice, and administration at Harvard and Tufts, as well as leadership with notable cross-institutional and cross-national endeavors, Dr. Sackey brings a wealth of experience in healthcare, academic medicine, and diversity, equity, and inclusion to this far-reaching new leadership role. She is also a current member of Dartmouth’s Board of Trustees.
After informal conversation as people arrive, through an interactive conversation, Dr. Sackey will speak about her Dartmouth experience and her current role at Stanford, with plenty of opportunity for discussion with those attending.
